Bank of China published its 2024 Annual Report on Sustainability Series Bonds on 11 April 2025, disclosing the full allocation of proceeds from 19 offshore green and sustainability bonds issued across its international network of branches. All proceeds had been fully deployed by 31 December 2024, with eligible projects spanning renewable energy, clean transportation, green buildings and social infrastructure. The report covers issuances from branches including Luxembourg, Macau, Frankfurt, Paris, Singapore, Johannesburg, Hungary, Sydney, Hong Kong, New York, London, Dubai and Panama.

#### ALLOCATION BY CATEGORY

Renewable energy constituted 82.74% of the CGT Green Bond portfolio, including wind power and pumped-storage projects. Clean transportation accounted for 46.22% of the Green Bond portfolio, with proceeds directed mainly to electrified metro projects.

The report provides specific examples of individual bond allocations. The June 2024 issuance by the Macau Branch — a CNY 1 billion Sustainability Bond — was fully allocated to wind power, affordable infrastructure and photovoltaic projects. The October 2024 Paris Branch Green Bond, a USD 300 million issue equivalent to CNY 2.14 billion, was directed to wind power and electrified metro projects.

Impact metrics disclosed in the report include expected annual generation of 45.06 million megawatt-hours from renewable energy projects financed by its green bonds, while the clean transportation portfolio is expected to avoid 110,204 tonnes of CO2 emissions a year.
