KB Financial Group's committee for recommending affiliate chief executive candidates on 16 December 2025 recommended Kang Jin-doo as chief executive of KB Securities' investment banking division, making him co-chief executive of the brokerage alongside Lee Hong-gu, who leads its wealth management division. The recommendation marks the first change of leadership at KB Securities' investment banking division in seven years.

The committee also recommended Kwak San-eop as chief executive of KB Savings Bank. The two new candidates would serve two-year terms.

#### NEW CANDIDATES

Kang is senior executive vice president in charge of KB Securities' planning and management group. He previously headed the firm's Corporate Finance Division 2 and its management support division, and the group cited his expertise in corporate and M&A financing. His experience also covers global investment banking operations, and the committee pointed to his balanced leadership experience across operations and management as a basis for a stable generational transition.

Kwak is senior executive vice president of KB Kookmin Bank's individual customer group. He previously led the bank's personal marketing division and its digital business group, experience the group said suited him to drive KB Savings Bank's digital transformation. The committee said it expected him to turn the savings bank into a digital-focused channel through its Kiwibank platform while drawing on synergies with Kookmin Bank.

#### FIVE INCUMBENTS PUT FORWARD AGAIN

The committee recommended five sitting chief executives for reappointment, each for a one-year term: Lee Hong-gu of KB Securities' wealth management division, Koo Bon-wook of KB Insurance, Kim Young-sung of KB Asset Management, Bin Jung-il of KB Capital and Sung Chae-hyun of KB Real Estate Trust.

The candidates were to undergo final review by each affiliate's own recommendation committee before confirmation at the affiliates' shareholder meetings later in December. KB Kookmin Bank's chief executive was not among the positions covered by the recommendations.
