BNP Paribas Appoints New Head of Digital Transformation

BNP Paribas has appointed a former Silicon Valley technology executive as its new Global Head of Digital Transformation, a newly created role that reports directly to the Group CEO.

The appointment marks the first time the French banking giant has recruited a C-suite digital leader from outside the financial services industry, reflecting the growing influence of technology-first thinking in European banking strategy.

"Banking is increasingly a technology business," said the BNP Paribas CEO. "To compete effectively in the next decade, we need leaders who have built and scaled digital platforms at the highest level."

The new appointee previously served as Chief Technology Officer at a major US fintech firm and held senior engineering leadership roles at Google and Amazon Web Services.

The role will oversee BNP Paribas' €2 billion digital investment programme, which includes cloud migration, AI deployment, and the development of next-generation client-facing platforms.
