Airtel Africa is preparing to take its mobile money subsidiary, Airtel Money, public on a stock exchange in 2025, with the unit carrying a potential valuation in excess of four billion US dollars. Chief Executive Olusegun Ogunsanya confirmed the timeline while presenting the group's full-year results, saying the listing was about a year away. The group first said it intended to list the unit when it sold minority stakes to investors including TPG, Mastercard and the Qatar Investment Authority in 2021.
Airtel Money operates in 14 African countries. The unit processes payments, remittances, lending products, and savings services for tens of millions of customers.
