Every figure we publish is traced to its source. We rely on primary sources: central banks, regulators, official statistics, company filings and results, and stock-exchange announcements. Data carry the date to which they are current. Figures converted to US dollars state the basis of conversion. Figures are checked against the original document before publication, including the unit, currency and period. Where an official figure is not published, we say what a figure is based on rather than estimate it.

We identify the publisher and date of the documents we rely on. Statements attributed to an institution are drawn from its published material. We do not publish figures we cannot support.

We use data tools and AI-assisted research and drafting to gather, cross-check and prepare material. Every figure is checked against its primary source before publication, and editorial responsibility for what we publish stays with The Global Banker.

Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial considerations. Advertising, partnerships, sponsorships, commissioned research and accreditation services have no bearing on our news coverage, our research conclusions, the TGB Bank Rankings or the outcome of any TGB award.

Content produced with a commercial partner is labelled as partner content wherever it appears and is kept separate from editorial and research output. Partners approve the final text of their own content. They have no access to, and no influence over, our editorial work.

Each research report states the period it covers and the date to which its information is current. Analysis is clearly distinguished from reported fact. Proposed rules and expected events are described as such until they take effect.

The TGB Bank Rankings are compiled from audited financial statements under a published methodology, applied in the same way to every institution. Whether an institution is included is decided by the methodology alone. Banks cannot pay to be included in a ranking, to change their position or to appear in one.

Award winners are decided through independent assessment by our analysts and a final decision by an Independent Panel of senior leaders. Panel members declare any conflict of interest and stand aside where one exists. Submissions are held in confidence and used solely for judging.

Anyone contributing to our editorial output declares any interest relevant to the subject and does not cover a subject in which they hold a conflict.
