Banco Santander delivered a record attributable profit of €12.574 billion for the full year 2024, representing a 14% increase on the prior year in reported terms. The Spanish banking group published the results on 5 February 2025, marking the third consecutive year in which the institution has surpassed its previous earnings record. Santander operates across markets in Europe, Latin America, and North America.
Total income for the year reached €62.2 billion, an 8% increase on 2023 (10% in constant euros). The return on tangible equity stood at 16.3%. The group's Common Equity Tier 1 capital ratio was 12.8% at the year end.
CUSTOMER BASE EXPANDS TO 173 MILLION
Santander added 8 million new customers over the course of 2024, bringing its total customer base to 173 million across its markets.
