APPOINTMENT PROCESS

Appointments to the Executive Director cadre at public sector banks in India are made by the central government on the recommendation of the Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) and with the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. The process is governed by the Banking Companies Acquisition Act, which was originally enacted to provide a statutory framework for the nationalised banks following the bank nationalisation of 1969.

Bank of India is one of India's larger public sector lenders, with a nationwide branch network and an international presence across several countries.
