The Bank of Japan left its policy rate unchanged at 0.50% at its March 2025 meeting. The decision kept Japanese borrowing costs at the highest level in nearly two decades.
The Policy Board's decision was unanimous and came two months after the Bank raised its policy rate to 0.5% in January 2025. The Bank said it would pay due attention to developments in financial and foreign exchange markets and their impact on economic activity and prices.
