Grab announced a partnership with Singapore-based digital payments firm Triple-A allowing GrabPay users to top up their e-wallets using five distinct digital assets. The feature went live on 12 March 2024 and was made public on 19 March and is available to GrabPay account holders in Singapore.
Users can fund their GrabPay balances using Bitcoin, Ether, XSGD, USDC, and USDT, a selection that spans major proof-of-work and proof-of-stake assets alongside Singapore-dollar and US-dollar denominated stablecoins.
HOW THE TRIPLE-A INTEGRATION WORKS
Triple-A, which holds a Major Payment Institution licence issued by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, acts as the conversion and settlement layer in the arrangement. When a GrabPay user selects a cryptocurrency to top up their wallet, Triple-A processes the digital asset transaction and converts the value into Singapore dollars that are immediately credited to the wallet balance.
