Interest income rose 7.5% and trading income increased 24.7% from a year earlier. A ₦46.2 billion fair-value loss limited the advance in pre-tax profit. Total assets reached ₦18.6 trillion and shareholders’ funds were ₦3.3 trillion. Chief executive Segun Agbaje said digital was the group’s lever for scaling across banking, payments, pension and funds management.

Net loans increased 0.5% to ₦3.15 trillion between December 2025 and June 2026, while customer deposits rose 10.3% to ₦14.19 trillion. The different growth rates left the group with a larger deposit base and only modest expansion in its loan book.
GTCO reported an IFRS 9 Stage 3 loan ratio of 4.6% at group level, down from 5.0% at the end of 2025. Its cost of risk improved to 0.6% from 2.2%, although the bank-level Stage 3 ratio edged up to 3.5% from 3.4%.

The group’s capital-adequacy ratio was 34.9%, while the bank-level ratio stood at 29.2%. GTCO also reported a 35.9% pre-tax return on equity, a 6.6% pre-tax return on assets and a 31.5% cost-to-income ratio.
Agbaje said the priority now is to execute with discipline and grow responsibly. The next scheduled milestone is GTCO’s full-year results.
