Macquarie Group reported full-year net profit of A$3,715 million for fiscal year 2025, a 5% increase from the prior year, as higher contributions from asset management and banking offset a weaker contribution from Commodities and Global Markets, whose net profit contribution fell 12%, the Sydney-headquartered group announced on 9 May 2025. Second-half net profit of A$2,103 million was 30% higher than in the first half of the year.

Net operating income for the year came in at A$17.2 billion, up 2% year on year. International operations accounted for 66% of total income.

ASSET MANAGEMENT AND BANKING LEAD DIVISIONAL GROWTH

Macquarie Asset Management delivered a net profit contribution of A$1,610 million for fiscal 2025, up 33% from A$1,208 million, driven primarily by higher performance fees and the gain on sale of the Macquarie Rotorcraft helicopter leasing business.

The Banking and Financial Services division posted a net profit contribution of A$1,380 million, up 11% year on year, reflecting growth in the loan portfolio and BFS deposits and lower expenses, partly offset by margin compression, higher credit impairment charges and run-off in the car loan portfolio.

Group return on equity for fiscal 2025 improved to 11.2%, up from 10.8% in fiscal 2024. The second-half annualised ROE was 12.5%.
