The supervisory board of PKO Bank Polski on 25 March 2024 appointed Szymon Midera to the bank's management board and, subject to the approval of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF), to the post of president of the management board, the bank said in a regulatory filing.

Midera joins the management board from 26 March 2024 as vice-president. Until the KNF grants its approval, the supervisory board has entrusted him with directing the work of the management board. Following his appointment, Midera resigned as a member of the bank's supervisory board.

OPEN SELECTION PROCEDURE

The appointments were made as part of an open selection procedure for the posts of president and vice-presidents, which the supervisory board launched on 14 February 2024. On that date the board dismissed six members of the management board and delegated three of its own members to act temporarily as vice-presidents, with Midera, from 15 February, entrusted with directing the management board's work.

The changes followed the resignation of Dariusz Szwed as president of the management board, announced on 7 February 2024 and effective from 14 February.

NEW THREE-YEAR TERM

Alongside Midera, the supervisory board appointed Krzysztof Dresler and Piotr Mazur as vice-presidents from 26 March 2024, and Ludmiła Falak-Cyniak as vice-president from 1 July 2024. All were appointed for a new, joint three-year term of office beginning on 26 March 2024. Maciej Cieślukowski and Marek Radzikowski remain delegated from the supervisory board to act temporarily as vice-presidents.

PKO Bank Polski is the largest universal bank in Poland. The State Treasury is its main shareholder.
