Qatar Islamic Bank reported net profit attributable to shareholders of QAR3.53 billion for the first nine months of 2026, an increase of 2% from a year earlier. Basic earnings per share rose to QAR1.49 from QAR1.46. The bank published the results on 14 October.

Total assets reached QAR235.5 billion at the end of September, up 9.7% from a year earlier and 6.5% from December 2025. Financing assets increased 21.9% year on year to QAR160.7 billion. Customer deposits rose 8.3% over the same period to QAR145 billion.

FINANCING GROWTH OUTPACED DEPOSITS

The expansion in financing was substantially faster than growth in customer deposits. Investment securities stood at QAR59.8 billion, while total income for the nine-month period reached QAR8.52 billion. Net income from financing and investing activities was QAR7.66 billion.

Net fee and commission income rose 5% from a year earlier to QAR699.8 million. Operating expenses were QAR844.6 million, and the bank reported a cost-to-income ratio of 16.2%. Those figures indicate that balance-sheet growth was accompanied by continued expense control.

ASSET QUALITY AND CAPITAL REMAINED FIRM

Non-performing financing assets represented 1.51% of total financing, with a coverage ratio of 95.1%. Shareholders’ equity increased 12.2% year on year to QAR31.9 billion. QIB reported a total capital adequacy ratio of 23.6%, above the minimum requirements set by Qatar Central Bank and the Basel framework.

The results leave funding growth and asset quality as the main measures to watch as financing continues to expand faster than deposits. QIB’s next full-year disclosure should show whether the bank can sustain growth while maintaining its non-performing financing and capital ratios. Until then, the nine-month figures establish growth in earnings and financing without indicating a change to formal guidance.
