UBS reported net profit of $1.7 billion for the first quarter of 2025, surpassing consensus expectations. Underlying pre-tax profit reached $2.6 billion during the quarter, with an underlying return on CET1 capital of 11.3%, the Swiss bank said in a statement published on its website.

Global Markets, part of the Investment Bank, delivered record underlying revenues, up 32% year-on-year.

WEALTH MANAGEMENT ATTRACTS $32 BILLION IN NEW ASSETS

Global Wealth Management attracted $32 billion in net new assets during the quarter. The bank has positioned itself as the world's largest wealth manager by assets under management following the Credit Suisse acquisition.

The CET1 capital ratio stood at 14.3% at the end of March, above the group's target of around 14%. The bank confirmed that $2.5 billion in share buybacks had been reserved for the remainder of 2025.

CREDIT SUISSE INTEGRATION

The bank has been working to separate the legacy Credit Suisse portfolio — including its non-core and legacy division — from the ongoing UBS businesses.
