UK digital bank Monzo has surpassed 14 million customers after recording its strongest-ever half-year of customer acquisition, with 2 million new users joining in the six months to September 2025 — the first half of its financial year 2026. The figure represents a 40% uplift in customer additions year-on-year.
Overall customer sign-ups in the first half rose 50% year-on-year. The bank has broadened its offering beyond the fee-free current account, adding savings products, consumer credit and business banking.
The 14 million customer figure covers both personal and business current account holders. Monzo did not disclose how many customers use it as their primary account, though it said about 70% of customers are active monthly and more than 800,000 businesses bank with it. Monzo reported its second consecutive year of annual profit for the year to March 2025.
