Absa Group has announced the appointment of Sitoyo Lopokoiyit as Chief Executive of its Personal and Private Banking division, effective 1 April 2026. The appointment forms part of a set of leadership changes that Absa has made following the finalisation of its refocused Group Pan-African Strategy. The announcement was published on Absa's media statements page and positions Lopokoiyit as the executive responsible for the group's Personal and Private Banking business.
In the same announcement, Absa confirmed that Prabashni Naidoo would assume the role of Group Chief Governance Officer, effective 1 March 2026. The appointments also included Rushdi Solomons as Group Chief Internal Audit Officer and Fatima Newman as Chief Compliance Officer (both from 1 March 2026).
LOPOKOIYIT'S BACKGROUND
Lopokoiyit joins from Safaricom, where he was managing director of M-PESA Africa and previously acting chief financial services officer.
