ANZ Group has appointed Rachel Slade, most recently National Australia Bank's Group Executive for Business and Private Banking, as a non-executive director effective 13 July 2026. She joins the boards of ANZ Group Holdings Limited, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited and ANZ BH Pty Ltd.
The appointment was announced by ANZ Group Chairman Paul O'Sullivan, bringing to the board an executive with more than two decades of experience across two of Australia's four major banks. Slade left NAB in July 2025 after leading its Business and Private Banking division.
TWO DECADES ACROSS MAJORS
Before joining NAB in 2017, Slade spent 17 years at Westpac in senior positions. At NAB, which she joined in 2017, her roles included Group Executive Personal Banking, Chief Customer Experience Officer and Executive General Manager Deposits and Transaction Services.
CHAIRMAN'S COMMENTS
O'Sullivan said: "Rachel's deep and contemporary experience across retail, business and transaction banking, combined with her track record of customer-led strategy and large-scale transformation, will bring valuable operational and customer insight to the Boards."
O'Sullivan said her experience would support ANZ's 2030 strategy and its growth objectives.
She held the NAB Group Executive, Business and Private Banking role from 2024. Her 17 years at Westpac in senior roles spanned global transactional services, retail and business banking.
Her departure from NAB in July 2025 preceded the ANZ appointment by around a year.
