Banco Itaú Chile has appointed André Gailey as its chief executive officer, effective 1 October 2024, following the departure of Gabriel Amado de Moura, who has joined the executive committee of parent company Itaú Unibanco as chief financial officer. The change in leadership was disclosed to the market through a Material Event Notice filed with the Chilean Commission for the Financial Market, the regulator that oversees listed companies and financial institutions in Chile.
MOURA'S MOVE TO GROUP CFO
Moura's move to the Itaú Unibanco executive committee as CFO filled the vacancy left by Alexsandro Broedel Lopes, who decided to leave the organisation to take on challenges abroad.
LEADERSHIP CHANGE DISCLOSED VIA REGULATORY FILING
The filing, made in early July 2024, gave the market nearly three months' notice of the transition. Gailey had been chief executive of Banco Itaú Uruguay, having earlier been named chief executive of Itaú's bank in Paraguay in 2019, while Moura succeeded Alexsandro Broedel Lopes as group CFO.
