Cairo-listed Fawry, trading on the Egyptian Exchange under the ticker FWRY.CA, reported record full-year 2025 results with revenue rising 57% year-on-year to EGP 8.65 billion. Net profit after minority interest climbed nearly 80% to EGP 2.89 billion, the company disclosed in its annual results, reflecting strong momentum across its payments infrastructure and its fast-growing financial services businesses.
The performance caps a year of significant expansion for one of the Arab world's most widely used digital-payments platforms. Total throughput value — the aggregate worth of transactions processed across the Fawry network — rose 56.8% to EGP 943.6 billion, a figure that underscores the volume of economic activity now flowing through the company's systems on a daily basis.
FINANCIAL SERVICES DRIVE FASTEST GROWTH
The Financial Services segment recorded the sharpest growth within the group, with revenue surging 135% year-on-year. That performance was driven primarily by rapid expansion in micro, small and medium-enterprise lending, consumer finance, and insurance products. The addition of credit and insurance distribution to what began as a payments business reflects a deliberate strategic broadening, and the scale of the revenue increase indicates that take-up among Fawry's large customer base has been substantial.
MSME lending addresses a segment of the Egyptian market that has historically been underserved by formal banking channels. Small businesses often lack the collateral and credit history required by traditional lenders, and Fawry's transaction data, network reach, and existing customer relationships provide an alternative foundation for credit origination and distribution at scale. The 135% revenue growth in financial services suggests this model is gaining significant commercial traction.
The myFawry mobile wallet application processed 393 million transactions during the full year, with a combined value of EGP 835.5 billion. The platform's network spans 36 bank partners and more than 377,000 agents, creating a physical and digital distribution footprint that reaches customers across Egypt's urban centres and secondary cities, including many who rely on agents as their primary point of access to financial services.
USER GROWTH AND INFRASTRUCTURE SCALE
Monthly active users reached 54.8 million by the end of the financial year, underpinning the revenue growth with a large, engaged, and expanding customer base. The company's network processes approximately 100 million transactions daily, with infrastructure capable of handling 4,000 transactions per second — capacity that reflects the current load as well as headroom for further growth as user numbers and transaction frequency continue to increase.
Fawry has also added investment capabilities to its platform. The Ziidi Investment platform, which received regulatory approval in November 2024, allows users to access investment products directly through the myFawry application, expanding the range of financial services available beyond payments and credit. The Ziidi Trader product extends investment functionality further, while the Fuliza-style facility provides short-term liquidity to eligible users.
The record results position Fawry as one of the most significant financial technology businesses across the MENA region. Egypt's large and predominantly young population, combined with relatively low levels of formal banking penetration, provides a structural growth backdrop for a platform that has demonstrated the ability to attract customers at scale and translate that reach into diversified and rapidly growing financial services revenues.
