HSBC appointed Selim Kervanci as Chief Executive Officer for its Middle East, North Africa and Türkiye region, known as MENAT; the appointment was announced on 25 November 2024 and he took up the role at the start of January 2025, moving from his post as chief executive of HSBC Türkiye. Kervanci has nearly 30 years at the bank and more than a decade on the MENAT executive committee.
Separately, Faris AlGhannam continues in his role as CEO and Board Member of HSBC Saudi Arabia, which operates as a distinct subsidiary within the kingdom's regulatory framework.
