HSBC Private Bank has appointed Feras Al Jarmani to lead its UAE Market, bringing the bank's UAE private banking teams under a single leadership, the group said in a statement on 7 August 2026. The move expands Al Jarmani's previous responsibilities as Head of the UAE Market for Arab and Emirati Clients, giving him coverage of the full domestic private banking business in the country.
Al Jarmani will report to Aladdin Hangari, Head of HSBC Private Bank, MENA. The appointment supports the group's stated strategy of building the UAE into a wealth hub for regional and international clients, an ambition HSBC has publicly emphasised as part of its broader push into wealth management across Asia and the Middle East.
UAE TEAMS UNDER SINGLE LEADERSHIP
The reshuffle consolidates coverage teams that had previously served different client segments under one senior executive. Unified leadership is intended to allow the private bank to deliver a more consistent experience across the UAE-based client book and to streamline coordination with the wider HSBC group in the country, including the commercial and global banking businesses that frequently intersect with private banking relationships.
The UAE has become one of the most contested wealth-management markets globally, drawing significant flows of new capital and prompting rival private banks to invest in on-the-ground teams and product platforms. HSBC's move to place a single senior leader across its UAE private banking business is consistent with that trend and mirrors similar consolidation moves undertaken by other international private banks operating in the region.
Bringing coverage of Arab, Emirati and international client segments under a single UAE market head also simplifies the escalation path for complex cross-border matters, which are a defining feature of the UAE wealth-management market given the international nature of many resident clients and their portfolios. It aligns the domestic organisation more closely with how large family and business relationships are actually structured in practice.
TWENTY-FIVE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Al Jarmani brings 25 years of financial services experience, including 13 years at HSBC. That combination of industry tenure and long-standing engagement with the group is likely to support continuity in client coverage as the enlarged UAE business comes under his leadership, and gives him a network of relationships across the bank's product and coverage teams to draw on.
Continuity is a particularly sensitive consideration in private banking, where client relationships are often built over many years and where changes in coverage leadership can have direct commercial consequences. Retaining a senior executive already familiar to a large part of the client base helps to mitigate those risks during a period of organisational change.
The announcement, published on HSBC Private Bank's media releases page, positions the appointment as part of a broader push to strengthen the group's UAE wealth franchise. The bank has been progressively expanding its Middle East wealth capabilities, and Al Jarmani's expanded remit is the latest signal of that focus and of the strategic importance the group attaches to the UAE market. HSBC has framed the UAE as a central pillar of its regional wealth agenda, alongside its established hubs in Hong Kong, Singapore and London, all of which serve overlapping international client bases.
