ING is to appoint Ida Lerner as its Chief Financial Officer, the Dutch banking group announced on 29 October 2025. Lerner, who served as CFO of Norwegian bank DNB from 2021, will join ING's Management Board Banking on 1 April 2026, and the Supervisory Board will propose her appointment to the Executive Board and as CFO of ING Group at the April 2026 AGM. Her appointment has been approved by the European Central Bank.
Lerner succeeds Tanate Phutrakul as ING's Chief Financial Officer. Phutrakul will step down from the CFO role when ING holds its Annual General Meeting in April 2026.
LERNER'S BACKGROUND
Lerner was DNB's CFO from 2021 and joined the bank in 2007; she previously headed DNB's Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa region from London and was group executive vice president for Risk Management, after earlier roles at HSBC and Nordea. ING serves customers in more than 100 countries.
TRANSITION TIMELINE
The gap between the 29 October announcement and the 1 April 2026 effective date is about five months. Phutrakul remains in post through the AGM.
