Kuwait Finance House formally launched KFH Egypt in late January 2025, unveiling a fully operational Islamic banking franchise under the KFH brand and rebranding what was formerly Ahli United Bank Egypt, which had been offering all its products and services on a Sharia-compliant basis since September 2024. KFH Egypt Chief Executive Hala Sadek confirmed the complete integration of the institution, describing the rebranding as more than a change of name and a full integration into KFH Group.
The launch puts the KFH brand on the group's Egyptian unit, which it has owned since acquiring the Ahli United Bank group in October 2022.
REBRANDING FROM AHLI UNITED BANK EGYPT
KFH Egypt was created through KFH's October 2022 acquisition of the Bahrain-based Ahli United Bank group, owner of Ahli United Bank Egypt, and the conversion of the Egyptian bank, which had operated as a conventional commercial bank serving retail and corporate clients across the country.
CHAIRMAN'S STATEMENT
Chairman Hamad Al-Marzouq said the move would be a real addition to Islamic banking in Egypt and a strong contributor to the local economy.
