Dr. Soraya Munyana Hakuziyaremye was appointed Governor of the National Bank of Rwanda by President Paul Kagame on 25 February 2025. Dr. Hakuziyaremye moves into the top role at Rwanda's central bank after serving as its Deputy Governor since March 2021.
Dr. Justin Nsengiyumva was simultaneously appointed to the position of Deputy Governor.

Dr. Hakuziyaremye is the first woman to lead the National Bank of Rwanda.
