UniCredit shareholders voted at the annual general meeting in Milan on 12 April 2024 to confirm Andrea Orcel for a second term as chief executive officer.
Orcel first assumed the role of chief executive at UniCredit in April 2021. The April 2024 AGM was part of a broader board renewal process that also addressed the composition and chairmanship of the board.
BOARD RENEWAL AND PAY
The 2024 board renewal saw Pier Carlo Padoan, who had chaired the board throughout Orcel's first term, reappointed as chairman for the new mandate.
At the April 2024 meeting, shareholders also backed a pay rise for Orcel.
His second mandate will see him continue to oversee the bank's operations across its core European markets, including Italy, Germany, Austria, and a substantial network of Central and Eastern European operations.
