How the FY2025 recognitions are determined

The FY2025 Performance Recognitions are based on FY2025 financial results published in the 2026 TGB Bank Rankings. They are determined entirely from banks' published full-year financial statements: there is no entry process and no fee, and no bank can influence the outcome.

The data are those of the TGB Bank Rankings (2026 edition): 201 consolidated banking groups, each checked against its own annual report or regulatory filing, converted to US dollars at the exchange rate on the bank's financial year-end. Subsidiaries of ranked groups are not assessed separately. Full definitions are in the rankings methodology.

Strongest Banks ranks banks by shareholders' equity: equity attributable to shareholders of the parent, including AT1 and other perpetual instruments classified as equity, excluding non-controlling interests. Country awards are made in markets where TGB's coverage includes the country's leading banking groups.

TGB Awards 2027

Alongside the data-based awards, TGB runs submission-based programmes in areas such as digital transformation, transaction banking and sustainable finance, judged by an independent panel of industry experts and celebrated at the TGB Awards Gala.
