Mastercard and BVNK announced the launch of Mastercard Global Money Platform, which combines Mastercard's global payments capabilities with BVNK's stablecoin infrastructure through a single API. The companies said the platform is available now through BVNK.

Accounts, cards and payouts through one API

Banks, fintechs and enterprises can embed multi-currency fiat and stablecoin accounts, real-time conversion, stablecoin-linked cards and local bank payouts into their own products under their own brand. Nuvei and Marqeta will be among the first to integrate the platform, alongside Ontop, Beem and Almond FinTech.

The platform integrates Mastercard Move, which reaches more than 17 billion endpoints and lets users pay local currency into recipients' bank accounts from stablecoin balances. Coverage is expected to expand to more than 40 currencies across 200-plus countries and territories in 2027.

Customers will be able to spend stablecoin balances across Mastercard's acceptance network, with card issuing available across 130-plus countries. BVNK said businesses also gain access to 20+ blockchain networks and payment rails, including new additions Stellar, Arc, Monad, Plasma and Tempo, and multiple stablecoins including USDC and OUSD.

First integration since the BVNK acquisition

The launch is the first major integration of Mastercard and BVNK capabilities since the acquisition of BVNK in August 2026. BVNK is used by Corpay, Worldpay, Deel and Marqeta, and processes billions annually.

Future support is planned for agentic commerce and additional regulated forms of money, including tokenized deposits. In a post on its website, BVNK said digital currency payments for goods and services have reached at least $350 billion in annual volume.

"With Global Money Platform, we're delivering on our promise to connect BVNK's technology with the scale and trust of Mastercard," said Chris Harmse, co-founder and chief business officer at BVNK. Raj Dhamodharan, executive vice president, Blockchain and Digital Assets at Mastercard, added: "We believe the future of commerce will be built on interoperability across multiple forms of money."
