Flutterwave, the Nigerian-founded payments company, has released its 2024 year-in-review report. The end-of-year report shows that 48 per cent of businesses on the Flutterwave platform received payments from new geographies during the year, which Flutterwave described as a 12% increase on the previous year.
US LICENCES
Flutterwave secured 31 additional US state money transfer licences during 2024. Money transfer licensing in the United States is a state-by-state process that requires applicants to meet capital, compliance, and operational standards set by individual state regulators.
AMERICAN EXPRESS PARTNERSHIP
Flutterwave announced a partnership with American Express in 2024. The agreement, announced in August 2024, lets Flutterwave merchants in Nigeria accept American Express cards.
