RippleX launched the XRPL AI Starter Kit, a collection of developer tools intended to support creation of agentic payment applications on the XRP Ledger, the company announced.
Ripple said AI agents were beginning to transact, pay for services and settle value autonomously, creating demand for financial infrastructure built for machine-to-machine commerce. It described the kit as a curated set of tools, documentation and integrations purpose-built for developers building agentic payments on the XRP Ledger.
WHAT THE STARTER KIT COVERED
According to the announcement, the kit is launching in phases, with Phase 1 focused on making it easier for developers to discover, learn and build agent-powered applications on the XRP Ledger.
Ripple said agents could use the kit to pay for APIs, compute and other digital services, and pointed to RLUSD for uses that need price stability, such as invoice settlement, payroll and agent-to-agent commerce.
The first phase included an XRPL Docs MCP server, XRPL Agent Wallet and Payment skills for Claude, new agentic-transaction guides on xrpl.org, and support for the XRP Ledger in the x402 payment protocol, which lets agents pay for APIs, AI inference and other services in XRP or Ripple USD (RLUSD). XRPL support in x402 came through a contribution from Ripple's partners at t54.
INSTITUTIONAL CONTROLS
For institutional deployments, Ripple said the XRP Ledger provides built-in controls such as escrow, multi-signing, deposit authorisation and trust lines, which can help organisations define who an agent can transact with, how funds can be used and what approvals may be required.
Ripple said future phases of the starter kit would be shaped by developer feedback and emerging agentic payment use cases.
