Tazapay, the Singapore-based cross-border payments firm, closed a Series B extension led by Circle Ventures, taking its Series B to a total of US$36 million and saying it would use the capital to expand its licensing coverage, accelerate go-to-market efforts in Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and the Americas, and build agentic payment infrastructure, according to Fintech News Singapore.
FUNDING AND STRATEGIC FOCUS
The round brought Coinbase Ventures and CMT Digital on board as new backers, joining Circle Ventures as the lead investor, according to the report. Tazapay said part of the funding would go toward building agentic payment infrastructure: rules engines and flexible rails designed for autonomous, AI-driven payment flows.
Fintech News Singapore reported that the funds would support licensing expansion, commercial growth and infrastructure for AI-driven payment use cases.
Bitcoin.com News noted that investors Circle and Ripple are stablecoin infrastructure companies, while Coinbase Ventures and CMT Digital are crypto-native investors. Bitcoin.com News said the combination signals institutional appetite for regulated fiat-digital bridges.
MARKET CONTEXT AND IMPLICATIONS
Brian Schultz, vice president at Circle Ventures, said stablecoin adoption in cross-border commerce depends on regulated, operationally reliable infrastructure, and that Tazapay’s licensing footprint and local market integration address an essential requirement for enterprise stablecoin-to-fiat settlement. The company said its payment rails and rules engine are designed to help developers and enterprises build automated payment systems on top of licensed and compliant infrastructure.
Tazapay says it serves more than 1,000 enterprises and fintechs across 30 countries and has doubled revenue for three consecutive years.
Tazapay holds licences or registrations in Singapore, Canada, Australia and the United States, has applications underway in the UAE, the European Union and Hong Kong, and said part of the funds would go to expanding its licensing coverage.
Bitcoin.com News described Tazapay's infrastructure as connecting stablecoin rails to local fiat systems and replacing legacy correspondent banking routes.
Chief Business Officer Kanupriya Sharda said demand from enterprises and fintechs across Asia, Latin America and the Middle East showed that businesses want to move money faster, more cheaply and with full regulatory confidence.
